Nynorsk is the new language of Norway. It has been designed to replace Bokmål ('Book Language'), the version of Danish spoken in Norway during the time it was under Danish rule. Nynorsk ('New Norwegian') has been carefully elaborated by the Norwegian government and is derived from a combination of Bokmål and Landsmål ('Land Language'), the dialects that already existed in Norway.
