Sankhu is a Newari town, 12 kilometres east of Kathmandu, in Nepal. The town used to be an important station on the trade route from the Kathmandu valley to Tibet, and retains many traditional Newari aspects. The town is also famous because of the nearby Vajrayogini Temple.
