The Iberian Peninsula, or Iberia, is located in the southwest of Europe, and includes the countries Portugal, Spain, Andorra and Gibraltar. It is bordered by the Mediterranean Sea on the south and east, by the Atlantic Ocean on the north and west, and is connected to teh rest of Europe by the Pyrenees on the northeast edge of the peninsula. In the south, it approaches the northern coast of Africa. It is the second largest peninsula in Europe (after the Balkan Peninsula).
