Welcome to the Citizendium! We hope you will contribute boldly and well. Here are pointers for a quick start, and see Getting Started for other helpful "startup" links, our help system and CZ:Home for the top menu of community pages. You can test out editing in the sandbox if you'd like. If you need help to get going, the forum is one option. That's also where we discuss policy and proposals. You can ask any user or the editors for help, too. Just put a note on their "talk" page. Again, welcome and have fun!Stephen Ewen 16:40, 23 January 2008 (CST)

Help

Hi Will, basically we use no WP-style userinfo boxes for userpages, although that does not mean you cannot make userpages look very nice, see mine for example. There's some links there to my userplan so that's an option to, as well, have a look at the time box on my talk page - these are just ideas and examples. And Larry's is pretty nice, too, very functional.

CZ uses the same citation templates WP uses. The only difference I think is that we don't link dates. For tools to make citations see CZ:MediaWiki Citation Tools. Go ahead and cite references right in the article; bibliographies on subpages mean more like "reading list".

The best way to contact others is just to start doing stuff on the wiki! They'll poke in soon enough Crystal ksmiletris.png. You can also see the template in fine print I placed on your userpage. Once you place yourself into author categories, you can browse them.

Let me know if you need more help!

I was originally enthralled about Citizendium, but after seeing how empty it is, how a lot of basic pipes like CZ:Help aren't yet made, and the amount of red tape I've had to saw through, I sort of lost my enthusiasm really quickly.

Thus far, I've been spending much of my time ranting on Wikipedia, lol. William Young 11:54, 25 January 2008 (CST)
