User talk:Patricia L Kelly Spurles
Welcome!
Welcome to the Citizendium! We hope you will contribute boldly and well. Here are pointers for a quick start. You'll probably want to know how to get started as an author. Just look at CZ:Getting Started for other helpful "startup" links, and CZ:Home for the top menu of community pages. Be sure to stay abreast of events via the Citizendium-L (broadcast) mailing list (do join!) and the blog. Please also join the workgroup mailing list(s) that concern your particular interests. You can test out editing in the sandbox if you'd like. If you need help to get going, the forums is one option. That's also where we discuss policy and proposals. You can ask any constable for help, too. Me, for instance! Just put a note on their "talk" page. Again, welcome and have fun! D. Matt Innis 17:22, 23 October 2008 (UTC)
Some ideas for contributions
Hi Patricia, welcome aboard CZ. Matt has already given you some hints as to how things work here in general, and I wish to add some more practical hints on what possibilities you have to contribute. For a start, I just took some of the keywords from the information you supplied upon registration, and display below the current state of related CZ articles (for icon documentation, see Template:Rpl/Doc):
- Anthropology: The holistic study of humankind; from the Greek words anthropos ("human") and logia ("study"). [e]
- Breastfeeding: Add brief definition or description
- Diaper: An absorbent garment worn between an infant's or incontinent individual's legs, to contain excretions. [e]
- Mother: An adult female human who gives birth to a baby. [e]
- Infant: A child between 1 and 23 months of age. [e]
- Baby: A human newborn child whether a boy or girl, which is helpless, small, lacking hair in most instances, and tends to cry and is hungry and thirsty for milk from the mother's breast, commonly known as breastmilk. They grow into toddlers, then into children, then into adolescent teenagers and then become an adult person who can survive on their own, hopefully. [e]
- Brain development: The build-up of the brain from ectodermal cells to a complex structure of neurons, glia and blood vessels. [e]
- Development of music perception in children: Carrying out research on the development of music perception in children anatomic and functional development of the auditory system has to be taken into consideration as well as neuropsychological aspects. As there is evidence that there are overlapping processing resources concerning music and language it is plausible to expect transfer effects between those two domains in any way. [e]
- Life cycle: Please do not use this term in your topic list, because there is no single article for it. Please substitute a more precise term. See Life cycle (disambiguation) for a list of available, more precise, topics. Please add a new usage if needed.
- Canada: The world's second-largest country by total area, occupying most of northern North America; officially a bilingual nation, in English and French (population approx. 27 million). [e]
- Montreal: Add brief definition or description
In order to find articles dealing with similar topics, it's also worth looking at the Related Article subpages of such an article.
Finally, in case you are involved in homework assignments, please consider doing so via Eduzendium articles.
