Tulou [r]: Chinese rural dwellings of the Hakka and Minnan people in mountainous southeastern Fujian, China. Most were built between the 12th-20th centuries as large, enclosed and sometimes fortified dwellings 3-5 stories high and housing up to 80 families belonging to a single clan.
