Neutrality question

This is a real, not rhetorical, question, but is "massacre" a generally-accepted word in the description of this event? I know that with some other historical events, such as the "Boston massacre" or the "Haymarket riot," the terms used by some to describe them might not be accepted by others with a different political take on the event.
