Transliteration

I've usually seen it given as "Pisistratos" (isn't the "us" ending more Roman?); the original Greek ends with "ος", FWTW for what that's worth. Should we do a Google search, consult learned works in the area, kill a chicken and de-gut it, or what? Just for grins, here are the Google counts:

  • Pisistratus - 93,100
  • Pisistratos - 3,110
  • Peisistratos - 49,200
  • Peisistratus - 34,900

The one I'm used to comes out on the bottom... :-( J. Noel Chiappa 13:51, 17 May 2008 (CDT)

Anything I've read on the guy gives it as 'Peisistratus'. Should we call in a Classics editor? (Do we even have any?!) Denis Cavanagh 13:58, 17 May 2008 (CDT)
