This page has been created twice with slightly different titles. See John Roberts. What shall we do about this? Michel van der Hoek 22:12, 20 July 2009 (UTC)

Put all the goodies from this one into the other (or the other way round, whichever name is more commonly used) & then ask a cop (eg User:Hayford Peirce) to delete the extraneous one. Ro Thorpe 23:41, 20 July 2009 (UTC)
Okay, so now we need a vote: which is the more commonly used form of his name? I have frankly heard both versions and really couldn't and don't want to decide which is top dog. Since I have started to develop the John Roberts page a little more, and some kind person has added a disambiguation page there, I would vote for that one, but that's for practical reasons. I do think the middle initial is probably not all that common, but any other votes out there? Michel van der Hoek 02:31, 21 July 2009 (UTC)
No, we don't need a vote. Just do it (whichever way you decide). FWIW, he is listed on the official U.S. Supreme Court page as John G. Roberts, Jr. Or check Wikipedia and see what they are doing in re naming. They usually get the names right! :-)
I just created the subpages, metadata, etc, before finding out about the other article. This is why I create redir pages even if there is at present no live target page, but that is apparently frowned on. Sigh! James F. Perry 02:28, 7 August 2009 (UTC)
