Starting new article for Write-A-Thon
A few hours ahead of California start time for the 'Write-A-Thon', I offer the beginning of an article on 'homeostasis'. Not sure about the need for the 'biology' qualifier, or even whether formatted correctly. Please help in that regard.
Zero content from WP. Did not even look at WP's article. Plan to later.
Can we put a subpage template on it? If so, will someone do so, please.

Allostasis
Shouldn't there be some reference to Allostasis as well? It may be nice to start a new page altogether on that. WP has a stub [1] Supten 00:27, 5 September 2007 (CDT)
Control system theory
While I note there is a bullet for "negative feedback", I'd like to see more integrating this with what variously is called cybernetics or control system theory. Remember the title of Norbert Wiener's book, Cybernetics: or, Control and communication in the animal and the machine.
The writing question is how early to introduce the general idea -- perhaps the second paragraph or so of the introduction? Howard C. Berkowitz 17:46, 31 December 2010 (UTC)
- Yes. Nothing under 'negative feedback' yet. I wasn't going tackle the section until I finished steering myself again through Wiener's Cybernetics, which I only recently retrieved from my personal library of Babel. I'll probably want to get 'cybernetics' somewhere upfront in the article, as you suggest, but I'll need incubation time. Feel free to jump in. —Anthony.Sebastian 03:54, 1 January 2011 (UTC)
