Talk:Christmas/Archive 1
This apparently originated on Wikipedia, and I notice that the "Article is from Wikipedia?" checkbox was checked in the first version here. Why was the checkbox unchecked? Please check it and leave it checked if other Wikipedians are responsible for any part of the article. Thanks (and welcome!). --Larry Sanger 04:43, 16 August 2007 (CDT)
- I think this is a significant enough article that we should do our own version entirely.--Robert W King 10:02, 16 August 2007 (CDT)
I estimate that the current version is almost 90 percent my writing. If I rewrite the rest, can I say it's original? The Wikipedia version is forever flipping between secular/pagan and Christain-oriented versions. Peter Kauffner 01:38, 17 August 2007 (CDT)
- As long as the completed article is significantly better than the one over at WP, and is within the spirit of this project, then I don't think there would be any issue. An absolutely fantastic final christmas article (before Christmas ;) ) would be great! --Robert W King 09:25, 17 August 2007 (CDT)

Christmas, anyone?
So what became of the above ideas? Maybe we can't get "the perfect article" done by the 25th December, but it'll be a bit pathetic if we don't a Christmas cluster in development. Aleta Curry 19:52, 8 December 2007 (CST)
Africanus?
Are we sure about this? According to a number of sources the earliest mention of Christmas is 4th century. Peter Jackson 14:14, 4 December 2008 (UTC)
