The kingdom of Denmark (Danish: Danmark), officially the Kingdom of Denmark (Danish: Kongeriget Danmark), is principally located on the Jutland peninsula and the neighbouring islands of Zealand (Sjaelland) and Funen (Fyn) , in northern Europe. It shares only one land border, to the south, with Germany. To the west lies the North Sea and the Baltic Sea is to the east. The Skagerrak and Kattegat waters separate Denmark from its Scandinavian neighbours, Norway and Sweden, although a tunnel and bridge over the Oresund now connects Denmark to Sweden. There are 406 islands belonging to Denmark, of which only 78 are inhabited. The capital of Denmark is Copenhagen.
