Catecholamine plasma membrane transport proteins are "a group of membrane transport proteins that transport biogenic amine derivatives of catechol across the plasma membrane. Catecholamine plasma membrane transporter proteins regulate neural transmission as well as catecholamine metabolism and recycling."[1]

Catecholamine plasma membrane transport proteins include dopamine plasma membrane transport proteins and norepinephrine plasma membrane transport proteins.

Clinical pharmacology

Catecholamine plasma membrane transport proteins are the target of adrenergic uptake inhibitors and dopamine uptake inhibitors.
