Québécois is a lake freighter launched in 1963 by Canadian Vickers Ltd.[1][2][3] She is a bulk carrier, at 75 ft (22.86 m) wide and 730 ft (222.5 m) long, she is built to the maximum dimensions of the St Lawrence Seaway locks. Her capacity is 28,000 tonnes. She normally carries grain, but occasionally carries ore.

Her first owner was the Papachristides Company.[3] The Upper Lakes Shipping Company acquired the vessel in 1972.[2] In 2011 Upper Lakes was acquired by Algoma Central Corporation.[4] The vessel has been renamed Algoma Quebecois.[5]
