disambiguation...

Should be disambiguated. There are loads of Thomas Jacksons, including my late father (not notable) and Rev. Dr TJ (1578-1640), Dean of Peterborough, President of Corpus Christi College, Oxford, etc., who came from the same small village as my ancestors and so may well be related, though we never found enough documentation to establish definitely which Jacksons were which before 1691. The WP dab goes for (police chief), though they haven't got an actual article. Peter Jackson (talk) 05:07, 21 July 2022 (CDT)
No, they don't. There was an AFD. My experience is that WP quality control volunteers routinely fail to adequately comply with their BEFORE requirements. The arguments that won out, for deletion, were that the Chief was merely a BLP1E. I thought that was wrong then, and his publication of a book is certainly a second event.
I think I prefer police officer to police Chief. He started as a mere officer. And if he remains in that field, after his resignation, he may have had to accept a lower rank than Chief. George Swan (talk) 09:09, 21 July 2022 (CDT)
Do you need my help to move this to Thomas Jackson (police officer) or something like that, and also setting up Thomas Jackson (disambiguation) and redirecting Thomas Jackson to the disambig page? It can get a bit complicated, but mainly, the first decision is exactly how to rename this article. Pat Palmer (talk) 10:13, 21 July 2022 (CDT)
I don't mind. Peter Jackson (talk) 05:52, 22 July 2022 (CDT)
