Paris (mythology)/Definition

From Greek mythology, he was the son of king Priam and queen Hecabe of Troy, and brother of Hector. He was the human judge of a beauty contest between Hera, Athena, and Aphrodite who choose the latter goddess, who allowed him to have the most beautiful woman in the world. He abducted Helen of Troy from Sparta, ths causing the decade-long Trojan War, according to Elizabeth Vandiver, Classics scholar and authority on Greek mythology and Greek tragedy including the Iliad, Odyssey, Aeneid, Homer, and Virgil.
