The 'ventromedial hypothalamus (VMH; also known as the ventromedial nucleus), is a nucleus of the hypothalamus. It has four subdivisions: anterior (VMHa), dorsomedial (VMHdm), ventrolateral (VMHvl) and central (VMHc). These subdivisions differ anatomically, neurochemically, and functionally. The ventromedial nucleus (VMN) is most commonly associated with satiety.
