(1889-1949) Imperial Japanese Army officer involved in many of the military and Palace intrigues of the 1920s and 1930s; a key planner of the Manchurian Incident; in retirement by the start of World War Two in the Pacific; defended the Throne at the International Military Tribunal for the Far East.
