The Wii is a video game console manufactured by Japanese electronics company Nintendo. It was launched in November 2006 and is part of the seventh generation of game consoles intended for the home. It is the most popular console of this generation; as of 2009, it has outsold both Microsoft's Xbox 360 Sony's PlayStation 3.[1] Its defining feature is its controller, a wireless, motion-sensitive device called a Wii Remote; an optional joystick attachment is referred to as the Nunchuck.
