The 100 Greatest Guitarists of All Time was a cover and feature story of the 18 September 2003 issue of Rolling Stone magazine published in August 2003.[1]

Jimi Hendrix, Duane Allman, and BB King occupied the top three positions respectively. The most represented band was The Allman Brothers Band with four guitarists: Duane Allman (2nd), Warren Haynes (23rd), Dickey Betts (58th), and Derek Trucks (81st). The Yardbirds had three: Eric Clapton (4th), Jimmy Page (9th), and Jeff Beck (14th). Two female guitarists made the list: Joni Mitchell (72nd) and Joan Jett (87th). The youngest guitarist on the list was Jack White of the White Stripes.

The list generated reader complaints in forums, with other guitarists being left-out or poorly ranked.
