Pierce v. Society of Sisters [r]:A 1925 decision of the U.S. Supreme Court in which it was decided that an Oregon state voter initiative which effectively required parents in the state to send their children to a public school was unconstitutional as it violated the Due Process clause of the Fourteenth Amendment.
