My education in Malaysia was up to "A" (Advanced) Level of the Higher School Certificate (Cambridge Examinations Syndicate "Pre-University"). In the 1970s I was accepted as a London University external student, but due to my commitments to monastic training and minister as a Theravada monk (Thailand), later opted for Buddhist Studies at the Maha Chulalongkorn Buddhist University, Bangkok. Before that I completed the three-year Nak Tham (Course in Buddhist Doctrine, attaining the First Grade). In 1994, in recognition of my contributions to the introduction of Buddhist Studies for Secondary School students in Singapore schools, Prof. Lewis Lancaster (emeritus) invited me to the University of Berkeley, California, USA as a Visiting Scholar (research programme). I am now doing full time an annotated translation of the Pali Canon which I use to teach my classes at various tertiary Buddhist groups and other centres, besides my own, The Minding Centre.

Welcome to the Citizendium! We hope you will contribute boldly and well. Here are pointers for a quick start, and see Getting Started for other helpful "startup" links, our help system and CZ:Home for the top menu of community pages. You can test out editing in the sandbox if you'd like. If you need help to get going, the forum is one option. That's also where we discuss policy and proposals. You can ask any user or the editors for help, too. Just put a note on their "talk" page. Again, welcome and have fun! Peter Ingerman 17:43, 6 May 2007 (CDT)
