Welcome to the Citizendium! We hope you will contribute boldly and well. Here are pointers for a quick start, and see Getting Started for other helpful "startup" links, our help system and CZ:Home for the top menu of community pages. You can test out editing in the sandbox if you'd like. If you need help to get going, the forum is one option. That's also where we discuss policy and proposals. You can ask any user or the editors for help, too. Just put a note on their "talk" page. Again, welcome and have fun!

Welcome, new editor! We're very glad you've joined us. Here are pointers for a quick start. Also, when you get a chance, please read The Editor Role. You can look at Getting Started and our help system for other introductory pages. It is also important, for project-wide matters, to join the Citizendium-L (broadcast) mailing list. Announcements are also available via Twitter. You can test out editing in the sandbox if you'd like. If you need help to get going, the forum is one option. That's also where we discuss policy and proposals. You can ask any administrator for help, too. Just put a note on their "talk" page. Again, welcome and thank you! We appreciate your willingness to share your expertise, and we hope to see your edits on Recent changes soon.

Well, those are our formal welcomes-and it's nice to be able to have you join us as both an editor an author. There's always a learning curve-and I encourage you to explore for a while. First off-check the Notice Board. If I can ever help you, I will try. You can always find me on my talk page. :-) Nancy Sculerati 20:12, 1 April 2007 (CDT)

I'm glad. believe me, a couple of decades in the operating rooms of New York left me with a vocabulary that would probably get me ejected from any number of places (including waterfront bars), -and an attitude that encouraged arrogance. We can think freely here-but the the tone must be professional, formal and very polite, the words gentle- and that really is good. in the long run- better. I have found so often that things I was sure about I was wrong about. Nancy Sculerati 05:39, 3 April 2007 (CDT)

balance

I think you are correct to question the over emphasis of biology in the macromolecular_chemistry article. This has come up before, see Talk:Macromolecular_chemistry#Balance, so i don't think you'll find there are many objections to the types of changes you are proposing. Chris Day (Talk) 10:27, 3 April 2007 (CDT)

unapproved?

Can you check out my posts here. User_talk:D._Matt_Innis#Macromolecular_chemistry

I'm unsure what has happened at macromolecular chemistry but at present it is in a limbo having charactieristics of both an approved article and an unapproved article. You seem to have be involved in some of these changes and may be in a better position to help. Thanks. Chris Day (Talk) 10:40, 3 April 2007 (CDT)

welcome

By the way, welcome aboard :) Chris Day (Talk) 13:05, 3 April 2007 (CDT)

macro molecule

I will get back on the topic after I recovered, that will be either tomorrow or the day after - and tell you why the article is as it is now - and what I intended for its future. Robert Tito |  Talk  17:55, 3 April 2007 (CDT)

Life article-carbon

Jacob, could you kindly take a look at the section "Stuff of Life" about organic molecules, read it through and copy anything you disagree with there as being true about carbon-carbon bonds to talk page. Perhaps offer a better short explanation, realizing it is for a fgeneral audience. Thanks, Nancy Sculerati 15:49, 7 April 2007 (CDT)

Thanks so very much. I made some additions (references) to Aspergers - see talk page. If you would like any full text, check the discussion forums for my e-mail, and e-mail me privately. Nancy Sculerati 22:12, 7 April 2007 (CDT)

Returning to Citizendium: an update on the project and how to get involved

Hello - some time ago you became part of the Citizendium project, but we haven't seen you around for a while. Perhaps you'd like to update your public biography or check on the progress of any pages you've edited so far.

Citizendium now has over 16,000 articles, with more than 150 approved by specialist Editors such as yourself, but our contributor numbers require a boost. We have an initiative called 'Eduzendium' that brings in students enrolled on university courses to write articles for credit, but we still need more Editors across the community to write, discuss and approve material. There are some developed Engineering and Chemistry articles that could be improved and approved, and some high-priority Natural and Applied Sciences articles that we don't have yet. You can also create new articles via this guide, and contribute to some Engineering or Chemistry pages that have been recently edited here and here - or to any others on Citizendium, since you're a general Author as well as a specialist Editor. You may like to contribute to discussions in the forums, and might consider running for an elected position on the Management and Editorial Councils that oversee the project.

If you have any questions, let me know via my Talk page or by leaving a message below this one. Thank you for signing up and reading this update; I hope that you will look in on our community soon. John Stephenson 09:34, 30 October 2011 (UTC)
