Good work, but please before you continue with this, please study what we have already written about this under "Categories of Editorship" at CZ:Editor Policy. --Larry Sanger 15:38, 16 January 2007 (CST)
- I knew there had to be something like that around. :-) Stephen Ewen 01:04, 17 January 2007 (CST)
- BUT don't let me stop you!!! Notice that the section before "Categories of Editorship" needs to be rewritten. --Larry Sanger 01:06, 17 January 2007 (CST)
- To maximize readership, all policies should be quick, straightforward reads. Lack of this is a problem with WP. Policies seem foreboding. "Editor Registration" and "Categories of Editorship" are together nearly 1300 words but might be 500. Less really can be more. That's my take, anyway. Stephen Ewen 01:11, 17 January 2007 (CST)
Move?
I'm not sure how closely Citizendium's rules on this sort of thing will resembles Wikipedia's, but shouldn't this move to CZ:How to Apply to be an Editor?—Nat Krause 18:13, 21 January 2007 (CST)
Definitely it should be moved, but (and I'm sorry I didn't notice this earlier) this page isn't going to be much help on the wiki as long as we're in the pilot project. Right now, all the application information will be on http://www.citizendium.org/cfa.html It can't be on the wiki because most editor applicants aren't on the wiki yet. --Larry Sanger 18:26, 21 January 2007 (CST)
What about Arts professionals, etc.
It seems that there is an assumptin here that we are dealing with the academic world. A great opera singer may grace international opera houses and have no degree- seems demeaning (and silly) to assume that they must apply via the equivalency route. Is there a better way? - Point well taken. :-) Stephen Ewen 19:42, 28 January 2007 (CST)
We need a regular, rule-governed way to make decisions, or risk the arbitrary and easily abused fiat of editorial overseers. We're all open to suggestion here. --Larry Sanger 20:13, 28 January 2007 (CST)
