24... Whats?
I wanted to include the following in this article: (The [ and ] mark the addition I want)
In November 1200, while William was in England, Alan fitz Walter arranged for his daughter Evelina to be married to Donnchad Earl of Carrick. This was done without royal consent. On William's return to Scotland, he was displeased [and extracted form Alan fitz Walter, 24... ]
However, I can't read the last bit in my source. The king extracted 24 what form Alan? My source is "The Annals of Roger de Hoveden: Comprising the History of England and of Other Countries of... by Roger. Roger of Hoveden. Translated by Henry Thomas Riley. Publisher by H.G. Bohn. (1853)." Does anyone have a better source, or a better copy of the same source? Derek Harkness 10:26, 27 November 2006 (CST)
- Hi Derek, I've taken the liberty of removing the leading spaces from your quote, since it causes the paragraph to render as one long line in most browsers. Sorry I can't help with your query. --Christo Muller 13:49, 28 January 2007 (CST)
Penney or penny
I've changed the spelling to penny. If the original reference says "penney", may I suggest reverting back to it, with (sic) appended, and the whole "offer as written" in quotes? --Christo Muller 14:17, 28 January 2007 (CST)
- I've checked the source again. It should be 'penny'. Just my typo. Derek Harkness 19:23, 30 January 2007 (CST)
