Attica Rebellion, also known as Attica Prison riots or Attica Uprising, was a rebellion in the United States by individuals imprisoned in Attica Correctional Facility in Attica, New York. It originated from the prisoners' demands to improve prison conditions. Governor Nelson Rockefeller ordered troopers to quash the rebellion, and at least 29 people died as a result.
