Prosody (linguistics) [r]: In traditional phonetics and phonology, a collective term for variables such as pitch, loudness, tempo and rhythm; nowadays, often used to mean suprasegmental, i.e. any phonological units or structure which organise segments, such as the syllable or phonological phrase.
