Huh--I can believe that New Year's Day is most commonly celebrated, but New Year's Eve? Got a source for that claim? --Larry Sanger 08:20, 7 May 2008 (CDT)

Does anyone hve a reference to the origin of "ringing in the New Year"? I assume it is due to campanologists ringing the church bells on New Year's Eve.. Chris Day 10:44, 7 May 2008 (CDT)
