The franc, or Swiss franc, is the name of the currency shared by Switzerland and Liechtenstein. 'Franc' was also the name given to the currencies of France, Belgium and Luxembourg before they adopted the euro: these were known respectively as the French franc, the Belgian franc and the Luxembourgian franc.
