Eugene is a city in the U.S. state of Oregon, and home to the University of Oregon, a public research university. Eugene is the third largest city in the state, with an estimated population of 172,622 in 2019. The city is located at the southern end of the Willamette Valley, Oregon's most-populous region, near the confluence of the Willamette and McKenzie rivers.
