I am a physiologist with specialisations in neuroscience and biomechanics. My primary research interest is the study of human locomotion and its neurorehabilitation. In particular, I study the mechanisms by which sensory feedback and supraspinal structures contribute to the control of human walking. I have a strong interest in the neurorehabilitation of walking following stroke or spinal cord injury using therapeutic functional electrical stimulation, and in the assessment of cortical plasticity using transcranial magnetic stimulation and functional magnetic resonance imaging.
