I have a Bachelor and Master of Science in Physics.
The M.S. is specifically Solid State Physics, but I have rarely
ever used that specialty.
I was an officer in the United States Air Force for nearly 22 years and retired as a Lt Col. During that time, I has assignments tracking satellites (radar), determining satellite orbits, computing orbital data for command and control of the DMSP satellite system, teaching at the Air Force Academy (with academic rank of Assistant Professor of Physics), monitoring the Soviets for violations of the underground nuclear testing treaties, running a research division developing radiation hardened electronics, and developing a distributed satellite simulation system.
At the Air Force Academy, I was instrumental in the first use of (then called) micro computers in their physics curriculum.
Since retirement from the Air Force, I have continued full time employment with industry. I generally work on development of satellite-related simulations including the simulation framework, sensor simulation design, and orbit and mission planning. But I also work in any area of general physics as well as creating 3D visualizations. I also assisted in a fair amount of basic research on "formation flying" satellite orbits.
