This needs a little more in the first paragraph.  For historical figures, I think it isn't enough simply to describe roles or positions, but to say what a person ''accomplished.''  So, what did Gallatin ''do'' so that we have an article about him at all?  (Or is his only claim to fame was that he was a cog in a government machine?) --[[User:Larry Sanger|Larry Sanger]] 07:45, 8 November 2007 (CST)
