Group Theory Article

What are we going to do with this article? I tend to agree with Greg Martin that it sounds a bit like a collection of facts, lacking narrative structure (no criticism of you or your writing intended!) I've tried suggesting a few ideas, but until my articles Complex number and Prime number were approved yesterday, I've pretty much had my hands full. I had intended to go on and write about some facet of differential geometry (or maybe just a basic article on manifolds), but now I'm beginning to think an article on Lie groups might not be a bad idea. John Logie Baird

Hello Jared,

Just a question for you -- I've been at work on the entry on John Logie Baird, which is in the Media workgroup as well as the Engineering Workgroup. Although I'm a Media Workgroup editor, I can't nominate the entry as I have done too much work on it. Many thanks for your note on my Talk page -- delighted you enjoyed the Baird entry.
Nominating for Approval doesn't mean that nominator attests to the factuality of every detail in the entry, only that he or she feels the entry is of sufficient scope, quality of writing, etc. and is appropriate for the field. If you do decide to nominate it, you can ask the the Approvals timer be set for one, two, or more days in the future. The article then gets announced on our CZ:Approval_Announcements page, and this will bring the entry to the attention of many other people, in the field and outside it, to look it over and (hopefully) catch errors, make improvements, or raise questions about factuality or documentation.
The easiest way make a nomination by leaving a note on the entry's talk page, and also letting one of our constables (D. Matt Innis or Stephen Ewen) know about it. They can then do the tagging or show you how to do it yourself.
