World War II/Definition

The most destructive war in human history, a worldwide conflict that began in the early 1930's and ended in 1945, with estimated battle deaths of 15 million and over 38 million civilians killed. It including the Holocaust which began in the early 1930's and the invasion of China by Japan beginning in 1937. The "Allies" (UK, US, Soviet Union) eventually stopped the expansion by invasions of the "Axis" (Germany, Japan).
