The Baltimore Orioles are a Major League Baseball team based in Baltimore, Maryland. The team was founded in 1901 as the Milwaukee Brewers and were one of the inaugural teams in the American League. [1]

The team has had a total of 3 championship-winning seasons in the modern era (1901 and later) of major-league baseball, winning the World Series in 1966, 1970, and 1983. They were also American League champions, but lost in the World Series, 4 times, in 1944, 1969, 1971, and 1979. [2]
