String Theory is still under active development, but is not at the forefront of work on the idea of the attempts to unify quantum mechanics with General Relativity. In addition, it has been supplanted by first, Superstring theory, and then M-Theory. My priority would be to work on the two modern attempts, one of which is Loop Quantum Gravity. Since it appeared at the top of the workgroup list, I will start here, but if it is acceptable, I will leave it a stub. It is important, but I expect that Loop Quantum Gravity will get more views.
