Nuclear reactor coolant [r]: A fluid that flows through a nuclear reactor absorbing heat produced by nuclear reactions inside, essentially nuclear fission chain reaction and decay of radioactive fission products. This fluid can be liquid, gas, or liquid converting to gas (boiling).
