Created article

Mostly new information, rewrote LEDE. Borrowed these sections (but trimmed and rewrote some) from WP: types of cables (5), history, tech specifications. What the Wikipedia article (which is extensive, highly technical, crammed with pictures) missed was how many consumers are peeved about the high prices of cables, and retailers use it as a quickie way to gain back the profit margin when selling an HDTV (paid $800 for a HDTV, why not pay $70 more for a cable -- that's only $70 more...) . My sense is the WP article is being used as a marketing tool for HDMI -- the article is either all positive, or highly technical, and professional-looking with references. But I think the article I have here is fair -- HDMI is an emerging standard, and it covers the basic points.--Thomas Wright Sulcer 02:40, 9 March 2010 (UTC)
