Originally the Institute for Electrical and Electronic Engineers, this non-profit association now says it "has expanded into so many related fields, that it is simply referred to by the letters I-E-E-E (pronounced Eye-triple-E)."

As well as acting as a professional and educational association, it is a recognized standards development organization. IN the Citizendium context, IEEE work is most likely to apply to computers and communications.
