User:Bill Falter
My name is Bill Falter, currently retired in Tucson, Arizona. Born in Chicago, I grew up in the western suburbs and attended Lawrence College, Appleton, Wisconsin. I graduated Cum Laude with High Departmental Honors (Government), in 1963. I received a Master of Arts Degree in Political Science from the University of Chicago in 1967. I served as an officer in the U.S. Army from 1968 to 1970. Having completed my service, I began a twenty-five year career in commercial banking in New York City. I have also been a fee only financial planner in my own business and worked for a major European software company.
My principal area of interest (other than the Chicago Cubs, Bulls, and Bears) is American history, the period from 1815 to 1890. Over the past several years, I have devoted considerable time to the Westward expansion and the Civil War. I am particularly interested in the evolution of American political, social, and economic institutions during this period in our history. I have pursued my own research and am embarking on a project (which may or may not result in a book) about the American experience.
