Needs some work
This article needs some work to make it read as an encyclopedic entry on the topic rather than primary source research by the author. --Matt Innis (Talk) 09:06, 27 June 2007 (CDT)
- Shouldn't it be written by someone who didn't discover and name the disease? James A. Flippin 09:04, 27 June 2007 (CDT)
- It certainly needs to be heavily edited by someone not associated with it, I agree, though Dr. Tan would certainly be the reasonable source for the information. That is why the Topic Informant workgroup is involved. --Matt Innis (Talk) 09:53, 27 June 2007 (CDT)
- I see. I guess I don't quite understand how the whole TI workgroup thing works. I thought the idea was to have the TI provide information in a separate space, but never actually write the article, and at this point he's written the whole thing. James A. Flippin 10:29, 27 June 2007 (CDT)
- We are in unchartered territory, but probably more of a content issue. I suppose, as a matter of neutrality, the article could be moved to his userspace, though it is already moved to TI:Unertan Syndrome. This way he can work on it in his own time to bring it in line with CZ:Article Mechanics, or an interested party could start here. I am not sure that anyone else is aware of the subject matter and it would take some research on their part. --Matt Innis (Talk) 11:03, 27 June 2007 (CDT)

Rename?
I propose that we rename this article Ulas family for the family that has been studied and discuss the features of the disorder there and Uner Tan's proposed theory about the cause along with other theories, such as that found here and in this documentary. The existence and name of Unertan Syndrome are very much in dispute, so it would be best to direct this to an uncontentious name. James A. Flippin 11:50, 27 June 2007 (CDT)
- I think it's too early to make that call. Additionally, I don't know we are qualified to make that decision(I am definately not the kind of scientist that Tan is).--Robert W King 15:35, 27 June 2007 (CDT)
