Renaissance is a term used to describe a revival in intellectual or artistic effort. In History, this term is most often used to describe a period in European History between the fourteenth and sixteenth centuries. However, there have been other periods and places said to under go a renaissance, such as the "Harlem Renaissance" in that Manhattan neighborhood of New York City, which took place in the early 20th Century. This article is about the European Renaissance.
