Costa Rica is a democratic third world nation that is geographically located south of Nicaragua, north of Panama, east of the Pacific Ocean and west of the Caribbean Sea. Costa Rica is known for being a peaceful country that works to maintain its easy going culture and natural beauty. In 1949 the government abolished their armed forces and focused most of the resources on education, health and conservation. Costa Rica is only 20,000 square miles but is filled with jungles, active volcanoes, and beaches.

Costa Rica Weather

In the central region of the country the temperatures vary from 68 to 78 degrees Fahrenheit but near the coast the temperature rises to a tropical level. Regardless of the season the temperatures stay pretty consistent, changing only slightly. During the wet season tropical downpours are very predictable in the afternoons; they consist of thunder, lighting and torrential rains.
