I was born in 1986 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. I am now taking my last semester of undergraduation in Applied Mathematics, but I started my course studying Physics and Psychology - and took courses in Physics until about a half of my undergrad formation. However, for my master's and doctoral degrees, I would like to go deeper into Epistemology, History of Science and, more generally, History of Ideas. My favourite authors are, on physics, Werner Heisenberg; on neurology, Oliver Sacks; on epistemology, Edgar Morin; on philosophy, Hans-Georg Gadamer.
Now, my main field of knowledge, however, is still Astronomy. I participated in the "International Astronomy Olympiad (IAO)" in 2003, and since then I have written and produced scientific and educational materials for training of new students participating in the Brazilian and International Astronomy Olympiad. This work was made together with a group of friends (see http://www.ordem.org) and under the support of Brazilian Astronomical Society.
In addition, I like so much of art, especially music. My musical education starts on classical music (being one of the learned few of playing the piano, having learnt it since I was a teenager), and now is more oriented toward experiments and some non-conventional musical arrangements. My favourite composers are Debussy, Ravel and Stravinsky; my favourite bands are Radiohead and Sigur Rós. My favourite novelists are Virginia Woolf, Clarice Lispector and Guimarães Rosa; my favourite poet, João Cabral de Melo Neto.
