• Integral part of the scientific method
• For technical reasons, publishing was historically a separate step, performed about once per cycle.
• Publishing every relevant bit of information immediately at each step is technically feasible now, but are we culturally ready for that?
• Some of us are — pioneering example: UsefulChem.
• And others?
