Phaedra [r]: From Greek mythology, she was the daughter of Minos and Pasiphae and sister of Ariadne and the Minotaur. Her passion for her stepson Hippolytos causes her own death as well as the death of Hippolytos, according to Elizabeth Vandiver, Classics scholar and authority on Greek mythology and Greek tragedy including the Iliad, Odyssey, Aeneid, Homer, and Virgil. This definition is based on her course Classical Mythology from The Teaching Company.
