Southern Baptist Convention

A term referring both to the denomination and its organization, the Southern Baptist Convention (SBC) is a North American religious group, which countsover 16 million members who worship in more than 42,000 churches in the United States. The churches are organized into 1,200 local associations and 41 state conventions and fellowships.
