São Sebastião do Rio de Janeiro is the second largest city of Brazil, standing only behind São Paulo, and is also the former capital on Brazil until the 1960's (replaced then by the planned city of Brasilia).

The city is famous to be one of the biggest target of tourism in the world, notably by its famous beaches (like Copacabana and Ipanema), its carnival celebrations, the Christ the Redeemer statue atop on Corcovado Mountain and by Sugar Loaf (Pão de Açucar).
