Welcome, new editor! We're very glad you've joined us. Here are pointers for a quick start. Also, when you get a chance, please read The Editor Role. You can look at Getting Started and our help system for other introductory pages. It is also important, for project-wide matters, to join the Citizendium-L (broadcast) mailing list. Announcements are also available via Twitter. You can test out editing in the sandbox if you'd like. If you need help to get going, the forum is one option. That's also where we discuss policy and proposals. You can ask any administrator for help, too. Just put a note on their "talk" page. Again, welcome and thank you! We appreciate your willingness to share your expertise, and we hope to see your edits on Recent changes soon. --Larry Sanger 08:00, 21 July 2007 (CDT)

Your articles

Hi Ian, just checking to make sure that these are not wikipedia articles that you have imported. If they are, don't forget to check the box in the bottom of the edit page. If they are all yours, you could leave a message at the very top of the article so nobody will ask you again! Thanks, --Matt Innis (Talk) 15:05, 25 July 2007 (CDT)

Good news! That makes it easier. CZLive means that we are actively working on it (even if it was imported from wikipedia). Just add, "I started this article from scratch here at Citizendium." to the sentence that you have at the top of the talk page. That should make it quite clear to anyone that happens along. You are fast!! --Matt Innis (Talk) 15:14, 25 July 2007 (CDT)

Help

Hi Ian. I saw your post here. Good point. In the meantime, here is the magic link: CZ:Project Home#Policy.  —Stephen Ewen (Talk) 11:40, 27 July 2007 (CDT)

Great update for me, at least, and others I hope. I am using the new Help template link a lot at present. Thanks. --Ian Johnson 11:51, 28 July 2007 (CDT)10:18, 28 July 2007 (CDT)

Gay (word)

Ian, many thanks for your kind words about my contributions. But I fear that the good work has been muddled by the last batch of edits; I am trying very hard to get the article reverted to its earlier state so that I can build on the earlier material, retain the headers, and give a fuller and more accurate account of the word's linguistic and political history. I'd appreciate your input as to your views on this on the article's Talk page. All best, Russell Potter 20:53, 28 July 2007 (CDT)

Les moules frites

Miam, miam! Also carbonnades a la flamande! Hayford Peirce 14:12, 29 July 2007 (CDT)

Unfortunately I haven't been there since 1953. My cousin lives there, however, on rue St. Quentin. The NYT had a long article a couple of months ago about wonderful Brux. restaurants, including Comme Chez Soi. The July 8th NYT has an article about Brux. with a mention of rabbit stew at Les Brassins, and Moules Frites at Aux Armes de Bruxelles, also Au Vieux Bruxelles; for Royale Cuisine, the Museum Brasserie.... Alphabet soup

Hi Larry - just a thought. As CZ grows, can there be at the top and bottom of each of the contents 'Live articles' index pages a hyperlinked "A-B-C-D-E...W-X-Y-Z" that would allow people to use it as a quick way to jump around quickly within that list to reach more quickly that part of the list for the subject they are wanting to search for? --Ian Johnson 07:53, 29 July 2007 (CDT)
